The Fidelity Magellan fund is very famous for being the ship that Peter Lynch navigated. But years later, it's just another generic, closet-index/large cap fund. I don't follow mutual funds too closely, but my initial thought was that there is basically no chance of Magellan outperforming the S&P 500 index over time.
